ISOFAR Workshop: Energy self-reliance in organic farming - is it feasible?
Fossil energy resources are limited and expected to become more expensive in the future. At the same time the accelerating fossil energy use results in enhanced greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Although organic farming aims at using renewable sources of energy, fossil energy constitute a dominant energy supply in large part of global organic farming. An ISOFAR workshop on the theme was held on 1 June 2006 in Odense, after the Joint Organic Congress 2006.
