A New Start for NORSØK
A central player in research in organic agriculture in Norway was for several years Norwegian Center for Ecological Agriculture (NORSØK), located in Tingvoll on a research farm with organic dairy cow management. Between 2006 and 2015, NORSØK’s research activities were conducted within Bioforsk, the Norwegian Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Research. Since January 2015, NORSØK has again become a separate institute, with a slightly revised name: Norwegian Center of Organic Agriculture. 13 dedicated employees work to increase the volume of Norwegian organic production and consumption by research and knowledge development and dissemination. One of them is the ISOFAR vice president, Dr. Anne-Kristin Løes.
Conference: Sustainable organic and low input dairy systems: Challenges and Solutions
This conference will focus on the challenges that face organic and low input dairy systems and how the EU-funded project Sustainable Organic and Low Input Dairying (SOLID) has worked for the last 5 years to develop solutions to improve the viability of such systems from an environmental, economic and social perspective.
