Aims and Background
About the 2nd ISOFAR Scientific Conference
The next scientific conference of ISOFAR 'Cultivating the Future based on Science' will be held in 2008, constituting the scientifc module (research track) of the IFOAM Organic World Congress 'Cultivate the Future' OWC. The research track is held in parallel to the so-called system values track of the OWC.
The scientific conference is coordinated by the International Society of Organic Agriculture Research (ISOFAR) in cooperation with International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and the local organisers, the Consorzio Modena Bio 2008.
All papers submitted to the scientific conference will have high scientific standards, including a peer-review system.
The programme of the 2nd ISOFAR Scientific Congress "Cultivating the Future Based on Science" will include oral presentations, guided poster tours and workshops.
The conference language is English.
At the IFOAM Organic World Congress 2005, in Adelaide, Australia, ISOFAR organised the scientific conference Researching Sustainable Systems.
QLIF Congress, ABM Conference and Organic Fruit Conference
- The scientific part of the Organic World Congress will also integrate the 4th Congress of the European Integrated Project Quality Low Input FoodQLIF (Info).
During this occassion QLIF offers a series of workshops where central organic themes are highlighted during a synthesis paper written by a team of QLIF authors. Subseqently, the workshops makes room for an exhaustive, moderated discussion.
Papers from the QLIF project will be presented at the Scientific Research Track/ the ISOFAR scientific conference and should be submitted to the 2nd ISOFAR Scientific ISOFAR Conference (guidelines).
- Scientific papers about organic farming in the Mediterranean countries, organised by Agrobiomediterraneo (ABM), should be submitted to the to the 2nd ISOFAR Scientific ISOFAR Conference (guidelines). The papers will be presented at the Scientific Research Track / the ISOFAR scientific conference.
- Scientific papers for the Organic Fruit conference should be submitted to the Organic Fruit conference (guidelines).
Institutions involved in the Organisation of the 2nd ISOFAR Scientific Conference
The 2nd ISOFAR scientific conference is coordinated by ISOFAR together with the Danish Research Centre of Organic Farming DARCOF, the Institute of Organic Farming IOL, University of Bonn, and the Research Institute of Organic AgricultureFiBL.
The 4th QLIF Congress is coordinated by the Danish Research Centre of Organic Farming DARCOF, the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, Switzerland and the Nafferton Ecologcal Farming Group NEFG of the University of Newcastle, UK.
The overall IFOAM Organic World Congress is organised by IFOAM with Consorzio Modena Bio 2008 (initiated by the Province of Modena und the Italian Association for Organic Agriculture AIAB).
